History of NHD

I started NHD when I was 24 after completing my degree at Curtin University. I began to specialise in branding & digital whilst gaining experience working for one of Australia’s largest ISP’s, iiNet.

After working for iiNet and a small Perth agency it was in 2018 that I launched NHD full-time. Since then I’ve been building authentic brands every day.

The purpose of NHD is simple – I believe in building authentic brands through creative solutions that will transform your business and increases brand awareness.

Authenticity

Authenticity is valued highly by everyone. When you deal with someone or a business who is authentic you begin to build trust with them, a report with them – to the point that they either become a friend or your regular coffee shop.

Authenticity builds connections with your customers beyond just selling a product or service. Authenticity will lead them to be loyal, returning time and time again.

Creativity

Creativity isn’t just about making your brand aesthetically pleasing, it is also the method on how strategies are implemented, language is used in your brand and how your brand is rolled out through various touchpoints.

Creativity will ensure that your brand is tailored to who you are, keeping you individual, authentic and maximizing your brands ability to sell who you are/what you do. After all, you’re not just in business for the fun of it, you do want to make money!

Simplicity

Simplicity is the aim of everything that is designed.

Simple however doesn’t mean incomplete, templated or boring. Simple means that it will communicate and connect with customers without hindrance. When a project is done with simplicity in mind, it clears the way for users to interact with brands with ease.

Who Me?

NHD stands for Nathan Hurst Design. Nathan Hurst is my name, and Design is what I do.

I love branding & website design. I consume design books like morning breakfast. Yeah that’s a little odd, but I love design books okay.
I also enjoy flying drones – and have now taken what was a hobby into doing it professionally.
